1:2 - [In Context|Original Greek] until the day when He was R3 taken up {to heaven,} after He had R4 by F2 the Holy Spirit given orders to the R5 apostles whom He had chosen. R6
1:3 - [In Context|Original Greek] To these F3 He R7 also presented Himself alive after His suffering, by many convincing proofs, appearing to them over {a period of} forty days and speaking of the R8 things concerning the kingdom of God.
1:4 - [In Context|Original Greek] Gathering F4 them together, He commanded them not R9 to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what F5 R10 the Father had promised, "Which," R11 {He said,} "you R12 heard of from Me;
1:5 - [In Context|Original Greek] for R13 John R14 baptized with water, but you will be baptized with F6 the Holy Spirit not F7 R15 many days from now."
1:6 - [In Context|Original Greek] So when they had come together, they were asking Him, saying, "Lord, is R16 it at this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?"
1:7 - [In Context|Original Greek] He said to them, "It R17 is not for you to know times or epochs which the R18 Father has fixed by His own authority;
1:8 - [In Context|Original Greek] but R19 you will receive power when R20 the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My R21 witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, R22 and even to the R23 remotest part of the earth."
1:9 - [In Context|Original Greek] And after He had said these things, He R24 was lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.
1:10 - [In Context|Original Greek] And as they were gazing intently into the F8 sky while He was going, behold, two R25 men in white clothing stood beside them.
1:11 - [In Context|Original Greek] They also said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the F9 sky? This Jesus, who has R26 been taken up from you into heaven, will come R27 in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven."
1:12 - [In Context|Original Greek] Then they returned R28 to Jerusalem from the mount F10 R29 called Olivet, F11 which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath F12 day's journey away.
1:13 - [In Context|Original Greek] When they had entered {the city,} they went up to the R30 upper room where they were staying; that R31 is, Peter and John and James F13 and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James F13 {the son} of Alphaeus, and Simon the Zealot, and Judas R32 {the} {son} F14 of James. 1:14 - [In Context|Original Greek] These all with one mind were R33 continually devoting themselves to prayer, along with {the} R34 women, and Mary the mother R35 of Jesus, and with His brothers. R36
1:15 - [In Context|Original Greek] At F15 this time Peter stood up in the midst of the R37 brethren (a gathering of about one hundred and twenty persons F16 was there together), and said,
1:16 - [In Context|Original Greek] "Brethren, the R38 Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit foretold by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who R39 became a guide to those who arrested Jesus.
1:17 - [In Context|Original Greek] "For he was counted R40 among us and received his share in this R41 ministry."
1:18 - [In Context|Original Greek] (Now this man acquired R42 a field with the R43 price of his wickedness, and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his intestines gushed out.
1:19 - [In Context|Original Greek] And it became known to all who were living in Jerusalem; so that in their R44 own language that field was called Hakeldama, that is, Field of Blood.)
1:20 - [In Context|Original Greek] "For it is written in the book of Psalms, 'LET HIS HOMESTEAD BE MADE DESOLATE, AND LET NO ONE DWELL IN IT'; and, 'LET ANOTHER MAN TAKE HIS OFFICE.' F17
1:21 - [In Context|Original Greek] "Therefore it is necessary that of the men who have accompanied us all the time that the R45 Lord Jesus went in and out among F18 us--
1:22 - [In Context|Original Greek] beginning R46 with F19 the baptism of John until the day that He was R47 taken up from us--one of these {must} become a witness R48 with us of His resurrection."
1:23 - [In Context|Original Greek] So they put forward two men, Joseph called Barsabbas (who was also called Justus), and Matthias. R49
1:24 - [In Context|Original Greek] And they prayed R50 and said, "You, Lord, who R51 know the hearts of all men, show which one of these two You have chosen
