Book of Genesis Chapter 4 - Read Chapter 4:2 - [In Context ]After that, Eve gave birth to another baby. This baby was Cain's brother, Abel. Abel became a shepherd. Cain became a farmer.
4:3 - [In Context ]
4:4 - [In Context ]At harvest time, F25 Cain brought a gift to the Lord. Cain brought some of the food that he grew from the ground. But Abel brought some animals from his flock. Abel brought the best parts of his best sheep. F26 The Lord accepted Abel and his gift.
4:5 - [In Context ]But the Lord did not accept Cain and his offering. Cain was sad because of this, and he became very angry.
4:6 - [In Context ]The Lord asked Cain, "Why are you angry? Why does your face look sad?
4:7 - [In Context ]If you do good things, you will be right with me. Then I will accept you. But if you do wrong things, then that sin is in your life. Your sin will want to control you, but you must control that sin." F27
