Book of John Chapter 10 - Read Chapter 10:22 - [In Context ]It was winter, and the time came for the Festival of Dedication F165 at Jerusalem.
10:23 - [In Context ]Jesus was in the temple F166 area at Solomon's Porch. F167
10:24 - [In Context ]The Jewish leaders gathered around Jesus. They said, "How long will you make us wonder about you? If you are the Christ, F168 then tell us clearly."
10:25 - [In Context ]Jesus answered, "I told you already, but you did not believe. I do miracles F169 in my Father's name. Those miracles show who I am.
10:36 - [In Context ]So why do you say that I am saying things that are against God because I said, 'I am God's Son'? I am the one God chose and sent into the world.
10:37 - [In Context ]If I don't do what my Father does, then don't believe what I say.
10:38 - [In Context ]But if I do the same things my Father does, then you should believe in the things I do. You might not believe in me, but you should believe in the things I do. Then you will know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father."
10:39 - [In Context ]The Jewish leaders tried to get Jesus again. But Jesus escaped from them.
10:40 - [In Context ]Then Jesus went back across the Jordan River. Jesus went to the place where John F172 was baptizing F173 before. Jesus stayed there,
10:41 - [In Context ]and many people came to him. The people said, "John never did a miracle. F174 But everything John said about this man (Jesus) is true."

F166: temple The special building in Jerusalem for Jewish worship.
F167: Solomon's Porch An area on the east side of the temple. It was covered by a roof.
F168: Christ The "anointed one" (Messiah) or chosen one of God.
F169: miracle(s) Miracles are amazing works done by God's power.
F172: John John the Baptizer, the man that told people about Christ's coming. Read Mt. 3; Lk. 3.
F173: baptizing Greek word meaning to immerse, dip, or bury a person or thing briefly under water.
