A Prayer for Help, and Praise for Its Answer.
A Psalm of David.
1 To You, O LORD, I call;
My rock, R770 do not be deaf to me,
For if You are R771 silent to me,
I will become like those who go R772 down to the pit.
2 Hear the voice R773 of my supplications when I cry to You for help,
When I lift R774 up my hands toward R775 Your F260 holy sanctuary. R776
3 Do R777 not drag me away with the wicked
And with those who work iniquity,
Who speak R778 peace with their neighbors,
While evil is in their hearts.
4 Requite them according R779 to their work and according to the evil of their practices;
Requite them according to the deeds of their hands;
Repay them their recompense. F261
5 Because they do R780 not regard the works of the LORD
Nor the deeds of His hands,
He will tear them down and not build them up.
6 Blessed be the LORD,
Because He has R781 heard the voice of my supplication.
7 The LORD is my strength R782 and my shield; R783
My heart trusts R784 in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore my R785 heart exults,
And with my R786 song I shall thank Him.
8 The LORD is their F262 strength, R787
And He is a saving R788 F263 defense to His anointed.
9 Save R789 Your people and bless Your R790 inheritance;
Be their shepherd R791 also, and carry R792 them forever.
