8:1 - [In Context ]For the choir director: A psalm of David, to be accompanied by a stringed instrument. F7 O LORD, our Lord, the majesty of your name fills the earth! Your glory is higher than the heavens.
8:2 - [In Context ]You have taught children and nursing infants to give you praise. F8 They silence your enemies who were seeking revenge.
8:3 - [In Context ]When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers – the moon and the stars you have set in place –
8:4 - [In Context ]what are mortals that you should think of us, mere humans that you should care for us? F9
8:5 - [In Context ]For you made us only a little lower than God, F10 and you crowned us with glory and honor.
8:6 - [In Context ]You put us in charge of everything you made, giving us authority over all things –
8:7 - [In Context ]the sheep and the cattle and all the wild animals,
8:8 - [In Context ]the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea, and everything that swims the ocean currents.
8:9 - [In Context ]O LORD, our Lord, the majesty of your name fills the earth!
