Book of 1 Timothy Chapter 2 - Read Chapter 2:1 - [In Context ]First, I tell you to pray for all people. Talk to God about them. Ask him for the things people need, and be thankful to him.
2:2 - [In Context ]You should pray for kings and for all people who have authority (power). Pray for those leaders so that we can have quiet and peaceful lives--lives full of worship and respect for God.
2:3 - [In Context ]This is good and it pleases God our Savior.
2:4 - [In Context ]God wants all people to be saved. And he wants all people to know the truth.
2:5 - [In Context ]There is only one God. And there is only one way that people can reach God. That way is through Jesus Christ, who is also a man.
2:6 - [In Context ]Jesus gave himself to pay for {the sins of} all people. Jesus is proof {that God wants all people to be saved}. And he came at the right time.
